Tejal & Samir

Mandarin oriental / Rosewood hotel London

I always love going back to my homeland for a wedding. Especially in London and even more so if it's an Indian wedding in London. They're just such a vibe, and this one was no exception.

The first day was in the Mandarin Oriental hotel in Knightsbridge. Such an iconic building in an equally iconic area of London, just down the road from Harrods. The highlight of this first day was definitely the incredible dancing from both families who put on a performance for Tejal and Samir before everyone descended on to the dance floor, young and old dancing together to the incredible Indian dance music from DJ Kabir. At the end of the party, Tejal and Samir packed up their room to move across to the Rosewood Hotel ready for the next day.

On day two, we arrived early at the Rosewood Hotel ready for the turban tying for the men whilst Tejal was getting ready upstairs. Once Samir was fully dressed in his amazing outfit with his turban tied, we took the opportunity to take a few pictures of him on the incredible marble staircase at the Rosewood. Once everyone was ready, it was time for Samir's baraat (big entrance), arriving through the Rosewood gates on a white horse with a throng of guests making music and dancing in front of him. The atmosphere was tremendous with everybody gathering inside the Rosewood hotel's square, surrounding the couple for more dancing. The orange glow of the Rosewood's granite exterior contrasted beautifully with the (atypical) blue London skies overhead. I absolutely love how those photos came out on film.

The rest of the day was an amazing blur with a beautiful ceremony in front of the Rosewood's amazing staircase, some incredible Indian food followed by more dancing, with an appearance from a mirrored ballerina and more epic tunes from DJ Kabir. Another really special day at one of London's most amazing venues. Thanks to the awesome team including Rohita Pabla Events and especially my good friend Yazmine May Photography
