From the very first moment I spoke with Maddy and Matt, it was clear our visions were aligned. About what a wedding should be about, and about how documenting it should reflect this. To all of us, it is about getting all of your loved ones together in one place for one amazing weekend of shared experiences and connection and creating memories together to last a lifetime. And it was clear from the outset that the best way to transmit what it was like to actually live an experience like this, was on film. For the photography of this Lisbon wedding shot on film, I used a mixture of lots of different film stocks. For the black and white I mostly used Ilford Delta 3200 as I just love the beautiful grain it gives. For the colour film stocks I used my usual choices of Kodak Portra 400 and 800 but also added in some 35mm cine films from Silbersalz, which give a really cinematic tone to the colours. To complement their photography, Maddy was clear right from the beginning that she wanted a video filmed on Super 8. My Super 8 films give that hit of pure nostalgia and the backdrop of Palacio Queluz in the outskirts of Lisbon created an incredible canvas for their Super 8 film. This wedding wouldn't have been possible without the incredible of team of vendors:
