Sabela & Ale

Pazo de Treilan, Galicia 

From the very first contact with Sabela and Ale, I immediately felt connected to them, it was like reconnecting with old friends. So much so that they brought me to Switzerland and showed me around their home town of Lucerne for their engagement session. We spent the weekend trying delicious cheeses, chocolates, and wine, and Ale showed off his Italian roots by cooking a delicious pasta meal in their amazing home. It's pretty mind blowing that after one video call, they would invite me to fly to the other side of Europe to hang out with them as friends, sleep in their home and eat at their table. Mind blowing and such a joy, it was truly an amazing weekend. And in addition, I think it's a bit of a life hack for getting the best wedding photographs. When I look at the photos, I can feel the intimacy I felt to the event, I try to shoot all my weddings from the 'guests´ eye view', but in this one, by the end I was basically just at a party with my friends, I love that the photos feel like that as well.

So on to the wedding. Ale is from Switzerland with Italian roots as I've mentioned but Sabela is from the interior of Galicia, an area famous for mountains, deep river gorges and amazing red wine from the Ribeira Sacra. Given that they now live in Switzerland, Ale's home, it seemed only fair that the wedding take place in Galicia, Sabela's home.
